Breaking NEWS
Jim AllanJim Allan - Rejoicing in Heaven.

We received the sad news that Rev James Allan passed away on Friday morning 27th August in Toowoomba.
While this is sad news to us, and a great loss to his family, we are certain that Jim is now having a wonderful time rejoicing in Heaven.Jim in action

Jim became an OAC voluntary worker in 1949, the year the Queensland branch of OAC was formed.  He joined the OAC staff in 1957 and worked in the Newcastle area until he was appointed Queensland director in 1958.  Jim led the Queensland work of OAC for 10 years.

Jim provided good leadership to OAC in Queensland.  He was an effective and creative preacher.  He developed a strong committed team of voluntary workers, and had an effective ministry to adults and young people.  Some of the special aspects of his ministry included ventriloquism, quality sketching and “gospel magic”.  His skills in presenting gospel illusions earned him acceptance amongst the circle of professional magicians.  Jim was an effective and ethical evangelist.

After Jim left the work of OAC in 1968, he studied at the Queensland Baptist College and served as pastor of numerous Baptist churches in Queensland until his retirement.  His life and ministry had a positive impact on many people.

Jim is succeeded by his wife Joan, sons Peter, Lynton, Trevor, daughter Sue and their families.

Jim’s funeral will be held on Friday 3rd September at 10:00am at Burstow’s Funeral Home, 1020 Ruthven Street (south) Toowoomba.
