My love for all creatures great and small first began when I was very young, my Parent's raised chickens and ducks, you can imagine how I loved the cute baby chickens and ducklings. I even had two bantams to look after of my very own. Also as a child I had a pet Budgerigar and a cat.

Much later in life my husband and I bought two Pet Shop's, which I ran; the first shop was in Christchurch, New Zealand, which we named 'The Jungle' and the second was in Nelson, New Zealand, which we named 'Pet's Paradise'. While running the shop in Nelson, I went into breeding birds and angora rabbits, all off-spring proved to be very popular with my customers. As a family we owned two beautiful Labradors named 'Lana' and 'Tania', who can be viewed above, and a Welsh Pony named 'Buffy', who can be viewed below, we also had a goat, two turtles, many tropical fish and several sheep; one of the sheep was extra special though, as we bought him as a lamb, which I had to bottle feed, his name was 'Bengie', he was pure black.

When we moved from New Zealand twelve years ago, I became Manageress for a Pet Shop in Brisbane, Australia; which I enjoyed doing for several years. Since living in Australia, as a family we owned several Australian Native birds (each with their own permits), we had three very large aviaries, with King Parrots, Princess Parrots, Rainbow Lorikeets, Galahs, Rosellas and Red-rumped Parrots, just to mention a few. We sold the property along with all the birds and aviaries.

Life moved along and we are now the proud owners of a Golden Cocker Spaniel, she has the most wonderful nature, her name is 'Tara'; we have the friendliest cat anybody could ever wish for, her name is 'Kylie'; there is never a dull moment around our house, as we have a talking Cockatiel, his name is 'Simba', all three can be viewed above, to complete our family of pets, we also have several cold water fish.
