Description Body blends from a lovely lemon chiffon dorsally to a vivid canary yellow in the body. The typically black horizontal stripes in the standard fish have been replaced by cinnamon collared stripes. An iridescent blue pin stripe outlines the pectorals and all unpaired fins. A pink-red eye is encased luminescent white eye socket.

Sexing Differences are scarcely discernible. Males have a more pointed genital papilla slanting to the rear. The female is generally the smaller fish.
Breeding Similar to J. ornatus and J. transcriptus
Feeding Omnivorous. Animal and vegetable matter accepted. Algae and lettuce also eaten. No red meats. Frozen foods such as blood worms. Live foods.
Compatibility Relatively peaceful. When breeding, it is intolerant toward its own species.
Tank Mates Africans of similar size.
Furniture Boulder and rocks.
Tank Size Prefer a tank size of 100 litres
