Rules |
| or the 10 Fooleish Commandments |
| 1. | This is meant to be FUN. This is not a voting claque who agree to always vote for each other. It is a group of Friends of the Fooles Troupe with Quality Websites who have agreed to vote regularly for the Fooles Troupe. Being Friends, they shouldn't have to be pestered daily to vote for the Site - a link under the animated "Vote for Us" banner will lead to a page that will always link direct to the voting rooms.
Friends of the Fooles Troupe are expected to copy to their own site the Copyright Virtual Fooles Troupe Blue and Gold Banner, and ensure appropriate html code in at least one reasonable place on their Website points to The Virtual Fooles Troupe Site (More than one link is fine!). Sample coding may be copied from the source code for this page. Place a copy of the file vft400a.gif (The yellow text on blue background image which appears above "Rules") somewhere appropriate on your site and modify the path accordingly. You can modify the sample code as much as is reasonable for it still to work: e.g. put it in borders made by tables with coloured backgrounds, etc. If you have difficulty doing any code mods just ask: I will email it.
It may not all that easy to agree to be listed on this page, so Friends of the Fooles Troupe will be removed promptly at their own request. |
| 2. | Friends of The Fooles Troupe with High Quality Websites who have been personally supportive of The Fooles and their Author and have agreed to regularly vote for the Fooles Troupe and be publicly named here, are called Special Friends.
Web Surfers are most cordially encouraged to visit these High Quality Websites.
Special Friends will normally will not be regular Competitors, but may also be (occasionally) Competitors, and will then also be listed in The Competitors Section. |
| 3. | Friends of The Fooles Troupe who are Strongly Supporting the Fooles by voting for The Fooles regularly in Website (Voting) Competitions are called Supporters.
Web Surfers are most cordially encouraged to visit their Websites, but no guarantee can be given as to the Quality or Content of their Websites. |
| 4. | Friends of The Fooles Troupe who are competing in Website (Voting) Competitions are called Competitors and are strongly encouraged to support each other. They will be Strongly Supported by The Fooles and all Friends of The Fooles Troupe, to the best of their ability as their time permits.
Web Surfers are most cordially encouraged to also visit their Websites, but no guarantee can be given as to the Quality or Content of their Websites. |
| 5. | Competitors are able to also have an optional URL for their own (one of the pages on their own site) Competition Page. This is not the actual address for voting in whatever Competitions they have entered, but will lead very quickly to it. They will undoubtedly welcome votes for them. |
| 6. | Competitors no longer competing will be (eventually) removed from this page; they may be moved into the Voters or past Friends listing, as long as their Sites are still active.
Past Competitors who meet the standards and conditions of Special member Status may in time apply for Special Member Status: granting of such will be considered to have the Status of an Award. Granting is based on the page content and html authorship being of an acceptable standard: Revocation of Award Status may take place at any time and without notice, without any reason having to be given. |
| 7. | The Fooles cannot agree to always support all Competitors; they will do the best that their available time permits, but Competitor Status on this Page should assist in garnering more than just one vote from The Fooles Troupe anyway... |
| 8. | A condition of entry to listing on this page is that Friends of the Fooles Troupe agree to receive at most a few times a week (at least once a week when the Fooles are competing), an email with details of The Fooles Troupe Competitive Status and other relevant matters. All email addresses will not be listed on this page, and will be kept in confidence. |
| 9. | No "pestering" for votes or Status. Webpages thought to be High Quality by their Authors alone don't always win Competitions: work on the design and content. While The Author has certain preferences for things such as dark text on light backgrounds; non-browser specific neat and tidy html Standard coding; and orginal (not just lists of other sites) content, some sites may still end up acceptable solely due to their content, especially if the links lists are well organised or annotated (called Research!). |
| 10. | All those requesting listing on this page agree to abide by the Spirit and well as the actual wording of these Rules.
Revocation of any Status or listing on this page may take place at any time and without notice without any reason having to be given.
No liabilities or damages of any type are agreed to by the Author of this page, or will be agreed to at any time: listing on this Page is consequent to agreement to this condition and all other Rules as modified from time to time.
No guarantee as to the quality or type of content is given regarding any page linked to here: such things are beyond control. Linked Sites found to be objectionable may have the links removed without notice or reason.
These Rules may be changed at any time without notice. |
