Having Trouble?

Unfortunately, this page may not look very good in all browsers. This page was designed to look reasonably OK in most browsers, and it now has also been LYNX enhanced.

All I can tell you is that it was originally written with Win95 with MSIE2 and Crescendo. The Operating System should not make a difference, and you should be able to hear the sounds with other combinations of Software.

The way it works for me is I click on a sound link, the sound downloads (some of them ARE a little large, so you may have problems with a slow link), opens the appropriate player and runs. I get no interference with the background midi sound. Tell me if having 2 midis at once causes your combination of HW & SW to have problems, but with my combination, I just close the new Crescendo window that opens when the button sound files opens, and the background music then returns. You can always right click on the Crescendo button at the bottom of the page to turn off the background music if you prefer.

I have compressed some of the very large files with the Microsoft ADPCM 8,000 Hz 4 Bit Mono format in order to minimize download times, unfortunately without that compression format you will not be able to play those sounds. It should be available from Microsoft or with Windows.
