OPERATION
- Switch on the power to STOCKOUNT and press the reset button on the display unit to set the count to zero.
- Set the delay switch to the setting desired. (The 10 sec. position is recommended for most applications where the interval between animals leaving and entering the chute is more than 10 seconds. This provides maximum protection against false counting e.g. due to animals baulking. The 1 sec. delay has been provided for ease of setting up.
- The green "DISPLAY READY" light when lit indicates that STOCKOUNT is ready to count. Interruption of the beam will cause a count to be registered and the green light to go out. Ten seconds after the sheep has cleared the beam the green light will come on again.
- If the mains power fails, the count at the time of failure will be retained and displayed for at least 3 hours. Normal counting will resume on restoration of power and of the sensor beam.
- STOCKOUNT's normal counting operation can be stopped if required by either switching off the mains power or unplugging the power converter lead from the display unit. This facility is particularly useful should access to the chute be necessary during shearing. Again the last count will be retained for at least 3 hours.
