Boring Details and other good stuff - Mark Ziza.
Name: Mark Ziza. (Zhi-zha - the Z's are pronounced like "Dr.Zhivago", but that's where the comparison ends..;)

Eyes: Blue, green, bloodshot, depends what I'm wearing...
Hair: Brown, my own. (so far)
Hands: Two of, extra large. (D Cup!)
Height: dizzy
Religion: Agnostic non-practicing Catholic Alcoholic with Buddist leanings - WELL AT LEAST I WAS....I'm converting to: Favourite Colour: Dirt. Favourite Contry: Tasmania. Mmmmmmmm: Tasigirl. Vehicle: 1983 Mitsubishi L300, way cooler than a Combi...or even a Kombi! ;) AHHhh sadly the L300 is no more and I kinda miss them... but not the oil leaks and the crappy auto-choke, or the fumes leaking inside.... Other Afflictions:: Sci. Fi. Fan - Star Trek (all of them), Star wars, Dr.who, H.G Wells. Red Dwarf cracks me up... Black Adder. Most English comedy. Have started reading Terry Pratchet novels (thanks Andrew). Chess playing while listening to Flamenco and drinking coffee....arrrgggggg...yum. Electronics as a day job. Audio equipment junkie. I love fidling with audio gear, tweaking knobs and switches, flashing lights.. what fun! No two rooms are the same so I like to come prepared. Getting great sound from acoustic instruments is a constant goal... This website has also become a bit of a hobby. I can't stop tinkering with it. It's kinda fun. Musical and other
interests: "I
love almost any type of music, but especially bluesy jazzy stuff. Early on were
Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Don McLean, and thanks to my
parents, classics like Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald Fats Waller
and Duke. Got
more into delta and Chicago blues when I was about 15-17. My first blues LP's
were John Lee Hooker - Alone and Phil Manning's' "It's
Blues". Albert Collins spent a long time in my CD player. Reverend
Gary Davis - what a legend! A
later influence has definitely been Mr. Tom Waits and I continue to
discover more of his vastly varied works. Bob Brozman's style pushed me towards
slide guitar. Lots of Bob Dylan. I REALLY like good lyrics. Ben
Harper, Taj Mahal, Jeff Buckley the list goes on and on... I also like
Aussie rock bands like Chisel, AC/DC, the Oils etc. I'm a big fan of Flamenco
and have a growing list of favorite classical composers." Frank Zappa... well it's taken me years to come around to his music but the (continuing) journey has been worth it. I can't stress enough that you should do the same. Check out my links page to begin.
Lately been listening to a lot of soul type people. Otis Redding, Soloman Burke, Wilson Picket. I checked out Little anthony and the Imperials because Tom Waits mentions them in a song - love it! Amazing voice... "you're just too good to be true...."
Computer Games have long been a diversion of mine.. dare I say addiction at times! Ever since the first Joker Poker pinballs and original Space Invaders, Moon Buggy, Cosmic Monsters, Gyrus and handheld/table top ones like Frogger (still have it!! ;). Into Battlefield 2 now though pretty much exclusivly. Still have many fond memories of games like Doom (1 & 2 ), Panzer General (2 & 3), Solar Winds. Had sad old ASCI games on XT machines too! Captin Comic, Commander Keen on the 286AT...

meanings for common words.)
Bought a "Banjitar" Banjo/Guitar hybrid from the amazing Margret Roadknight . It's a scary sounding instrument...perfect for "Chocolate Jesus" or some country blues.
(Slide only guitars) A couple of dreadnoughts that sound great, and homemade Hubcap and Salad bowl resonator guitars!
Harmonica - Lee Oskar Blues harps (usually 2nd position)
Percussion - Feet, Tambourine, Stomp Box, shaker, the floor ... whatever keeps things chuggin' along. Also tend to bash the guitar a bit. - I like to use the lid off an old mixer roadcase. With suitable shoes and a kick drum mic (ATM25) inside fed to a small sub - this rocks! (er..AND swings ;) It also gives me an excuse to sit down on the job.. I've found I don't play right when I can't hear my feet. Carpet is not very musical.
Have started using a large diaphram Audio Technica ATM4050 to mic up the gutars and it is fantastic. I used to use a smaller ATM33 but the bigger one is much better. Before they banned cigarettes from clubs I'd have been to scared to put a mic like that on stage... (smokes kill electronic stuff as well as people) Another benifit from the smoking laws I guess.
Covers and Original Music:
Playing other people's music is great but creating my own music is my main passion.
