7/7/03 :::: " Tip Toeing thru the Tulips for Vanessa's Birthday! "

Greetings Shirleyphiles and welcome to another half hour of low-fi lovliness! This week la Shirl is sending out big belated birthday smooches for the gorgeous Vanessa! aka Ness aka orangebutterflyness - hence the winged wonders here there and everywhere! Happy belated birthday ness! - hope it was a blessed and glorious day for you...

la Shirl has put together some positively sunny uplifting tunes for this occasion because ness is just the sunniest thing around ! ... a few may stray from the usual radioShirley fare that you've come to expect but there's nothing like finding a little surprise floating on the top of your alphabet soup is there? Vanessa also requested:- " mr kenneth may i please request a few rock tunes to jump to, thrown in somewhere? ... say like The Animals - House Of The Rising Sun or any guitar heavy stuff, hehe ... ?" - well I don't know how much jumping one can do to "The House of the Rising Sun" darl....I tried and found that it just made me sway a little to the left and it had mr. Kenneth heading straight for the bar fridge for sustenance - but we did jump test "We Gotta Get Outta This Place" and found ourselves hopping around like maggots on a hot chop! I'm not even going to begin to describe the "moves" - well that's what he called them - mr. Kenneth was doing to the Georgia Satellites track - suffice to say if there was a greasy pole in the vicinity of chez Shirley it wouldn't be greasy anymore ;)

So Shirleyphiles it's time again to throw back the scatter rugs, move the cat out of harms way and get Tip Toeing to a very eclectic mix up in honour of the fabulous Ness!
