5/5/03 - "Family Ties"

Greetings Shirleyphiles and welcome again to another half hour of low fi lovliness! This week it's all about "Families". Some are bound by flesh and blood, others bound by the animators pen and well, lets face it...some should've been gagged and bound for those gorgeous saccharine images dished out to impressionable TV toddlers like yours truly. Mind you, thousands of therapists the world over probably owe their Rolls Royces and yachts to the culmulative effects of Brady Bunchitis! Because your Shirl's such a modern girl, I've also thrown in a fabulous track from TV''s Felix and Oscar - The Odd Couple. Now if those boys don't display a few stereotyped husband/wife role playing traits, I'm Uncle Fester's love child!

With lots of your favourite TV themes peppered amongst some "classics" by The Partridge Family, Donny and Marie Osmond, Australian 70's songbird trio The Moir Sisters, 1930's Hillbilly sisters The Coon Creek Grls and arguably, the most dysfunctional among them, The Jackson Five, this week's show is a MacDonald's MacReal Family Deal! I mean who can really resist the temptress that is Marcia Brady calling one and all to come taste the sweet delights of her Sugar Shoppe? Marcia! Marcia! Marcia! indeed!

So push those single beds together, spice up the warm milk with something overproof and join moi in a celebration of "Family Ties".
