"ENCORE! - It Shoulda Been Shirley!"

This week Shirl wipes her brow, slaps on the mud pack and encores a girlpower moment at the request of a few faithful Shirleyphiles miss[e], Anya, smallPaul and SwampFox. Yes, the gals on this week's show ain't muckin' around. Sassy sistahs and dangerous women who've been wronged and throw it back in bucketfuls. Bitter? Twisted? Who moi? All I will say is that...It Shoulda Been Shirley!

The late, great Divine, pictured left, bangs out her 80's anthem, "You Think You're a Man", along with Shirl's favourite a/typical girls, The Slits. Tunes by Yvonne Fair, Linda Ronstadt, Etta James, Wanda Jackson, Lulu, Rita Jean Bodine and one of Shirl's all time favourite tracks by pre-Countdown era Marcia Hines fill in the gaps along with some caustic sound bytes from a range of persons notorious and not.

So Shirleyphiles it's that time again to turn up the speakers, fix yourself something yummy to drink, swallow the bitterest pill in your Nana's medicine cabinet, flip through Auntie Germaine's "Female Eunuch" and start itchin' bitchin' and twitchin' to another glorious half hour of LOW-FI lovliness on radioShirley.....
