Greetings
luvs and luvverlies...the birthdays continue...yes they do....as
the delightful jane said to me this week..."Shirl...you are
the Birthday meister"....well yours truly would prefer mistress...but
I ask you, has la Shirl ever been known to be THAT fussy?...lol....This
week it's a sooper special BIG BEAT birthday treat for Shirl's
nearest and dearest...her fabulously delightful charmingly hilarious
engagingly beautiful big sister Trish! There she is, pictured
left, circa last century with the ginchiest bob for a five year
old I think I've seen! Apply a little lippy, lots of eye liner
al la Mary Quant, add ten years and you may get an idea of a certain
mod styling...Trish style. Some years younger as I am, *wink*
I do recall Trish balancing a rather serious blonde bouffant at
one stage though. Oh for a snap of that hair do or hair don't
to share with you dear listeners!
So
this week, we are stuck in a chiefly Sixties groove with some
of the hippest teen sounds coming out of Oz during Trish's halycon
days with Johnny Young and Kompany, Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs,
The Easybeats, Dinah Lee, Lynne Randell, The Zoot, The Masters
Apprentices, Russel Morris, Normie Rowe and English upstarts,
The Rolling Stones and The Animals tossed into the mix.
It's
time to get those dancing pumps out for the next half hour of
low-fi lovliness, get your gang around for a sleep over, your
make up kits open and at the the ready and pop a bottle of Porphory
Pearl to join Shirl and mr. Kenneth in a toast to the birthday
girl of the moment, the fabulous Trish! Happy Birthday Sis! *mwah*
*smooches*
