This week Shirleyphiles, at the request of Anya, one of radioShirley's devoted listeners in Poland, we're going to go dancing in the street down to Hitsville U.S.A. That's right, la Shirl is getting UPTIGHT and OUTTA SIGHT to the Motown sound.

I'd need more than 24 hours of your precious time to cover all my favourite Classic Motown tracks that came out of Detroit Motor City in the 60's but in the next 30 minutes of low-fi lovliness you're gonna be teasing your hair and giving those slingbacks a work out like they haven't had before to Martha Reeves and the Vandellas (pictured left), Stevie Wonder, Shorty Long, Brenda Holloway, The Detroit Spinners, Diana Ross and the Supremes, The Velvettes, The Undisputed Truth and an extraordinary piece of "docu-pop culture" from Tom Clay.

So all you hep cats and kittens...roll back the floor rugs and kick away the scatter cushions...Anya get yourself grooving in the kitchen *bebbe* cause we're gonna be doing some fancy footwork and arm flailing to the Motown sound.....till next time....take care and play fair...
