Are you ready for Phyllis Diller dear Shirleyphiles? Indeed, this week we enter the wierd and wonderful world of Phyllis Diller. One of showbiz's most unusual and gifted comediennes. With humour bordering on just plain Dali-esque strangeness crossing over into the mundane, Phyllis Diller had a laugh that could set a whole audience in motion. Her Brisbane appearence in 1979 is still fondly etched into my brain. Suffice to say, I love her! Recorded at the legendary San Francisco nightclub, The Hungry Eye, back in the late 60's, this show presents Diller in full flight and features a tour de force of a monologue about flying cheaply in the United States entitled TightWad Airlines, another with the line " I don't give a hoot where my liver bile duct empties. I still wouldn't go to a doctor. I'd go to my dressmaker. I'd tell her Sweetie....either dry it up or button it." So get comfy and get set to giggle your way through another half hour of low-fi lovliness with the incomparable Phyllis Diller! ............*smooches* Shirley
