OMA'S BABY BOOTIES

Cast on 10 stitches on #1 (new born), #2 or #3 needles for sole.
Work back and forth over 2 needles in garter stitches (K all around for 36 rows, 18 ridges).

Pick up along side, 18 stitches on 1 needle - then 10 stitches on other side with another needle and 18 stitches on third side with same needle.

Work all around as follows:
P 4 rounds, K 4 rounds, P 4 rounds, K 4 rounds, P 4 rounds.

Work on needle with 10 stitches for instep.
Pick first stitch off side needle for 16 rows.
K or P 10 and 11 (pick off st) together.
Turn. Repeat.

Now work all around all stitches K1, P1 for 3 rounds.
Next round *K1, P1, YO, K2tog* and repeat all around.
Then K1, P1 for 3 more rounds.

Knit 22 rounds and bind off loosely and roll down top for cuff.

Thread ribbons through eyelets.
