Pattern for crocodile mittens for a toddler (2-3 or so)

Uses green double knit wool and I used two strands of different pinks of dale baby for mouth (but that's cos that's what I had in pink - I guess double knit weight should be ok.) Also odment of bright contrast for eyes (mine was dayglo yellow acrylic, but white or pale green or something should do)

cast on 30 st
knit 4cm in k1p1 rounds (or flat if you like). on 3.25mm needles
switch to 3.75 mm needles.
Working in reverse stst and still in the round next round inc 4 sts (34)
Work 4 cm.
Split the sts into 18 and 16.
Using invisible cast on of your choice
(I crochet a chain of 15 and tie it off then pick up and knit into back of chains)
cast on 12 st in mouth colour, work this in sts, and continue with 18 st of head in rev stst.
Switch to working back and forth on mouth and head.
(EYES) Work 2cm p5 st work a contrast 5 st bobble in next st, work to last 6 sts, work another constrast bobble.
Work another 4 cm without shaping.
End with p head and k mouth row.
work accross mouth sts, k3 ssk, work to last 5 sts k2tog k3 work accross head sts, ssk, k to last 3 sts ssk k1.
Repeat last two rows until there are 4 pink sts and 10 green. break off ends and draw through.

Pick 11 pink sts up from invisible cast on (k2tog somewhere along row = 10st). continue as top of head with pink in stst and green in rev stst. Work until 4 cm, decrease as previously.

Make another.

Sew up seems and hide ends.
He might require a little steaming to get his mouth to stay in the right place.
