Fantastic modern architect designed beachhouses. Three (plus) bedrooms and two separate self contained living levels that are ideal for family and friends to share. Ground level has safe undercover parking, a convenient external shower to use on return from the beach and a lockable entry area that is great for surfboards and beach equipment.

 
 
The Whale Watching towers are outstanding features of these beachhouses to enjoy the changing moods of the ocean and the diversity of marine wildlife including the annual migration of humpback whales in winter and spring.

 

Relaxing lounge rooms on both Levels to observe the ocean (TV, DVD). Large fixed glass panels in the lounge bring light into the house and allow for comfortable ocean viewing in all weather.

 

Ocean views from your lounge room Well equipped full size kitchens on Level 2 that are a pleasure to use- dishwasher, microwave, ceramic hotplate, wall oven, European appliances.

 

Kitchens also have ocean views. The cool breezy design has excellent ventilation with stainless steel ceiling fans in each room and ceiling and wall insulation. Spacious decks with extending tables for outdoor living and entertaining. A timber bench with external power point is provided on Level 2 for easy use with the electric BBQ.

 

Level 2 has the main bedroom with ensuite/2 way bathroom and a queen sized pillow top bed. House 1 has a nursery or parents'retreat off the main bedroom (with fold-down double bed).

 

Level 1 deck. The laundry with dryer is located off the deck. An ironing board, iron and vacuum cleaner are also provided. The decks on the lower levels have excellent views

 

Kitchenette on Level 1 is equipped with a microwave, toaster, kettle and small refrigerator. Lounge room on Level 1 has a sofa that converts to a comfortable bed and TV/DVD.

 

Level 1 has two bedrooms with a queen sized bed and two singles. The bathroom has a plunge bath and separate shower.

 

House 2 is a larger 4 bedroom house that is not shown. It has equivalent whale watching tower views which is the highest floor of any dwelling in the Point Lookout township. The deck has good ocean views out to Flat Rock that are narrower than shown above. All bedrooms have a pleasant and private bushland outlook.

To ensure peaceful and relaxing holidays and to protect community values, The Keep has a FIRM POLICY of low noise and respect for neighbours and property. Bookings are conditional on adherence to this policy and the Conditions of Use. People booking for a small group need to advise all house guests of this requirement.

    General Information and Access
    North Stradbroke Island is one of the largest sand islands in the world and is located less than 50 radial kilometers from the central business district of Brisbane Queensland. The main holiday area of the Island is Point Lookout which has escaped gross development.

    The Point is unbeatable for real beach holidays. It has pristine surf beaches, natural foreshores and breathtaking gorges and headlands from which an amazing diversity of marine wildlife can be observed. The winter months often have magnificent weather and are an ideal time to observe the annual migration of pods of humpback whales from the Antarctic to breeding grounds in tropical waters.

    The Island may be accessed by road, rail or bus by travelling approximately 40-60 minutes from Brisbane Airport or City to Cleveland on Brisbane's eastern bayside. Regular, hassle free, drive on/drive off vehicle barge services operate from Toondah Harbour at Cleveland and it is a pleasant 50 minute barge ride across Moreton Bay to Dunwich on the Island. A barge discount is available to Keep customers. Alternatively a 30 minute water taxi passenger service to Dunwich operates from the Harbour.   Point Lookout is a comfortable 15-20 minute drive across the island from Dunwich and a local bus meets incoming water taxis.
