We are a Club that promotes Synchronized Ice Skating, the newest discipline of Ice Skating within the Ice Skating Union.

Our club has been around for many years in various forms, as a single team of numerous names, in the adult division. We amalgamated with the Junior team, that was part of the Figure Skating Club here in Boondall, in February 1997. In late 2002 we started a Novice Squad. The club has grown now to include an Open team and two skate school level squads. Our  teams are named:

As a club we have competed in numerous Australian Figure Skating Championships.

The championships usually run from one Saturday to the Sunday a week later.

Synchronized Skating takes up the competition afternoon of the first Saturday and Sunday, with a banquet being held after competition and presentations, on the Sunday night.

Our record of achievement is below.

1999 Championships Mt Thebarton, Adelaide, South Australia

What is Synchronized Ice Skating

We compete as teams consisting of between 9 and 20 skaters, whose goal is to create and maintain manoeuvres such as circles, lines, pass throughs and various other shapes, while continuing to skate in unison, and to the music. Music is usually chosen, and cut into slow and fast pieces, with choreography to suit the mood of the music. Highlighting of two or more skaters is permitted, such as spins.

You will learn new and challenging skating skills with the support of fellow Team Members. Compete in State, National Titles, and possibly Internationally.

We are looking for interested skaters, female and male, who would like to take up this challenging sport. You should have the following abilities:

Skate Backwards and forwards

Crossovers (forwards and backwards)
