In 1984 Alfio BUCCERI patented a new product called Permasnow and promoted its use in through an exciting new concept of year round indoor skiing.

The product and the concept of year round indoor snow skiing was first displayed at the Sydney Ski Show in 1986 and received world wide publicity when used in 1988 at the Switzerland Pavilion at the World Expo 1988.

Over 6 million people visited the ski slope that opertaed over an uninterrupted 6 month period.

The first commercially operated year round indoor snow ski centre in the world using Bucceri's system and was opened in Adelaide, Australia in late 1988.

In 1988, the National Panasonic Company (Matsushita) purchased  the Japanese rights to the patents and technology and built a Aus$45 Million the first year round indoor ski centre in Japan at Tsudanuma, Tokyo.(Image below shows Mr Bucceri with Mr Sekine the Matsushita Chief.)

The first year round indoor ski centre in Europe opened in 1989 and used the Bucceri system at Antwerp in Belguim. Since 1989 there have been many more indoor centres built throughout the world using various technologies. In Japan alone there have been 15 Indoor Ski Centres built.

The vast majority of the Japanese Indoor Ski Centres used the Permasnow technology or improved versions .

In 1990 Alfio Bucceri developed an OUTDOOR system of snow making that allows for the creation of snow ski areas in any temperature in capital cities and resorts without the requirement of expensive buildings or below freezing temperatures.

In 1991 Bucceri first successfully trialled an outdoor system over an extended period at Warwick in South East   Queensland in Australia at temperatures of 15 degrees celsius, ( 60 degrees faranheit)

In 1992 Bucceri achieved another world first by building a trial commercial outdoor operation in the City of Brisbane where average winter temperature's are seldom below 15 degrees celsius.(60 degrees farenheit) Ski lessons and tobogganing on a snow covered 80 metre slope were offered to the public for a 4 month winter period.

Since 1992 to 2008 Bucceri has developed many innovative snow making machines which have been used for events, indoor ski centres, and ski resort use. The technology and products are now promoted and sold by www.snowfactories.com .  Alfio bucceri works for the company as chief consultant and product developer.
